We are seeking a skilled and motivated WordPress Developer / Designer to join our team of volunteers and play a vital role in maintaining, enhancing, and expanding our online presence.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update our existing WordPress website, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues related to the website’s functionality and user experience.
- Implement new features and functionalities to improve website usability and meet the growing needs of our ministry.
- Integrate custom themes and plugins to enhance the website’s design and functionality as needed.
- Collaborate with content creators and other volunteers to ensure seamless integration of new content and media elements.
- Work closely with leadership to plan and implement website improvement strategies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in WordPress development and website management.
- Experience with popular WordPress plugins and themes (e.g., security plugins, SEO plugins, form builders).
- Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-friendly development.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Passion for the mission of Walking in Step with God Ministries.
Bonus points:
- Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles.
- Experience working in a non-profit or faith-based organization.
