Responsibilities:

1. Video Production Oversight:

  • Direct the editing of raw video footage to ensure the team produces engaging and impactful content that aligns with the ministry’s vision.
  • Oversee narrative flow, ensuring editors maintain a coherent storyline, clear message, and effective pacing across all video projects.
  • Supervise the integration of video elements, including synchronized dialogue, music, titles, captions, graphics, transitions, and visual overlays.
  • Maintain quality control for visual consistency, color correction, color grading, formatting, aspect ratios, and compression across various platforms.
  • Ensure long-form and short-form videos are optimized for their intended platforms and audiences.

2. Strategic Workflow & File Management:

  • Establish and enforce an efficient file structure for all video footage, project files, graphics, and related assets to ensure team-wide organization.
  • Implement version control, file-naming, and labeling standards to streamline the collaborative video-editing process.
  • Coordinate project timelines, ensuring the team meets bi-weekly production schedules and high-volume short-form video deadlines.
  • Monitor team capacity and workflow bottlenecks, proactively communicating volunteer staffing requirements to leadership so participation levels remain aligned with production demands.

3. Leadership & Creative Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary liaison between content creators, and the video-editing team to translate project requirements into finished videos.
  • Coordinate virtual team meetings to discuss creative direction, technical requirements, production priorities, and project updates.
  • Review and provide final approval on video content, incorporating stakeholder feedback and directing necessary revisions in a timely manner.
  • Drive continuous improvement by recommending creative innovations and technical enhancements to the video-production workflow.

4. Team Leadership & Mentorship:

  • Lead and manage a diverse video-editing team, ensuring cohesive and efficient workflows for both seasoned professionals and entry-level volunteers.
  • Establish a clear organizational structure and workflow that allows less-experienced volunteers to learn, develop their skills, and contribute meaningfully.
  • Assign video projects and editing tasks based on individual expertise while identifying opportunities for peer-to-peer training.
  • Mentor team members by providing constructive feedback, technical guidance, and creative direction to foster their professional growth.
  • Monitor project timelines and ensure high-quality video standards are maintained across all skill levels.

Qualifications:

  • Team leadership experience is required for this role. We are seeking a leader with strong professional expertise in video editing and the ability to oversee a video-production team.
  • Proficiency with professional-grade video-editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.

  • Ability to manage workflows, establish expectations, and provide creative direction to team members with varying skill levels.
  • A desire to build structures that help developing volunteers grow while effectively collaborating with seasoned professionals.
  • Strong creative and visual storytelling skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple video projects, and meet production deadlines.
  • A portfolio or samples of previous video-editing work are required to demonstrate technical and creative proficiency.

Benefits:

  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful, faith-based video content.
  • Gain leadership and hands-on experience in video editing and production.
  • Enhance your skills in visual storytelling, video design, and digital content production.
  • Collaborate with a diverse and passionate team of content creators and video editors.
  • Expand your professional network and make valuable connections.
  • Receive a letter of recommendation or professional reference upon successful completion of the volunteer role.

Please note that this is a remote volunteer position, and no compensation will be provided. The expected time commitment is approximately 5–10 hours per week.
